intoxicating smell of pizza

So let's have some reports on the pizza fest. There is nothing that gets me drooling like the smell of pizza fresh from the oven. For the record, I have a pizza stone too, but find that it is not big enough for the pizzas I want to make. I'm going to work some more on my grilled pizza this summer, the one I did last summer was a bit misshapen.

  1. It was our first time to participate as I've had to work the other times. Casey is really into making the dough. And it's GOOD! I didn't realize there were differnt sizes to pizza stones, but mine is larger than Mom's. Oh! I need one of those big wooden paddles like you got Mom. Except that's not what they're called-they said the name (peel?)in a long article (coincidentally)in the Wednesday paper the same week of the pizza party. I didn't use my stone much because it was a hastle trying to transfer the pizza onto the hot stone. DUH! I should have figured there was something for that. I'd seen them at pizza joints but didn't make the connection.(Mr.Obvious)
Casey does a double rise. Mom had several fixin's and you make your own with what you like.

  2. I usually don't have the patience for a double rise, but maybe I'll try to next time. I still am experimenting with recipes, may need to crib from Casey.
